Description: MidMichigan Health is looking of Ultrasound Technologist right now, this position will be placed in Michigan. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating findings of diagnostic examinations using sonograp! hy as appropriate. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for daily operations of the ultrasound lab, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to pursue lifelong learning to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.
Qualifications: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), or equivalent clinical diagnostic setting experience including hospital, clinic or private practice is required. Bachelor of Science degree is desirable. One year full time work experience preferred. Registry eligible new graduates may apply. Ultrasound technologists performing general ultrasound imaging, including abdomen, small parts, and obstetrics/gyne! cology, must obtain and maintain active certifications by the ! American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Abdomen and OB/GYN specialties within one year of the date of hire. Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate and ARDMS re-credentialing yearly requirements to maintain active registrant status. Strength sufficient to lift some patients, move heavy equipment on wheels (up to approximately 500 lbs), and to move patients in wheelchairs and stretchers. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Provides department specific on call related duties days, evenings, and weekends as assigned.
