The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse administers medications, moni! tors fetal heart rates, may assist inducing labor, and works with physicians to design an infant delivery plan. Many facilities are requesting RN L and D travel nurses who are also competent in the total birth process, from antepartum to newborn nursery and all the various sub specialties involved. This Labor and Delivery travel nursing job may offer a variety of settings, including not just hospitals, but birthing and maternity centers, health clinics and OB/GYN outpatient offices. Labor and Delivery RNs care for patients before they give birth, during the birth process, and after birth, with post-partum nursing care. Compassion and a positive attitude are a must.
