We are currently seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife.
Summary:
In collaboration with an obstetrician, provides primary obstetrical/gynecological healthcare to patients, including prenatal care, postpartum care, gynecological care and family planning within the scope of training and in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocol.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provides healthcare and health management for women and children. Accepts nurse-to-nurse consultation requests focusing on the nursing care of patients with special nursing needs requiring advanced clinical expertise Assists staff in the identification of the nursing problem, the selection and implementation of nursing action and evaluation of the patient outcome. Examples of typical areas of concern include: patient education, patient and family emotional support, continuing care, discharge planning, and repeated or long term illness Accepts consultation requests from the healthcare community and physicians. Provides direct patient care through advanced professional nursing practice and serves as an expert clinician in the area of the clinical specialty Maintaining fiscal responsibility for resource conservation Has direct input to the review and revision of care plans, policies and procedures, and documentation forms within the specialty. Provides direct patient care through advanced professional nursing practice and serves as an expert clinician in the area of the clinical specialty Responsible for the educational processes of patient/families related to the clinical specialty. Assesses educational needs and learning abilities, develops and disseminates educational plans, implements and coordinates educational programs. Evaluates the attainment of educational objectives and program objectives Collaborates and/or supervises the instructional activities of staff related to the educational program. Assists nursing staff in the interpretation and application of research findings to nursing practice Participates in setting and reviewing standards of care in area of expertise. Evaluates and recommends revisions of policies and/or protocols affecting nurse midwifery services. Assists in maintaining statistical records of practice and quality indicators with the expectation that these will be reported to administration and the4 OB/GYN Attends meetings to include but not limited to recruitment, OB/GYN departmental and/or practice meetings All other duties as assigned
