Nurse Practitioner provides services in a manner consistent with the prevailing standard of practice.
II. JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Responsible to : Supervising Physician
1. To provide primary medical care at the practice under the auspices of a physician.
2. Provides services by collecting data required for diagnosis and performing procedures and services as authorized.
3. Obtains and evaluates medical histories.
4. Performs history and physical examinations.
5. Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures (i.e. colposcopy).
6. Orders laboratory studies, radiographs, electrocardiograms, and other special examinations/studies.
7. Collects specimens for pathologic examination.
8. Analyzes and interprets data, formulates problem lists, and establishes plan for solution of clinical problems.
9. Completes patient chart with co-signature by supervision physician.
IV. JOB SPECIFICATION
Education : Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Training and Experience : New graduate or experienc! ed Nurse Practitioner. OB/GYN experience preferred. Allscripts! experience preferred.
V. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to travel independently within hospital and in the community.
2. Ability to converse verbally and in writing with other regarding hospital services, including the public, physicians, co-workers, and employees.
3. Ability to utilize hospital information system and multi-line phone system.
VI. ESSENTIAL MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to process vague, abstract, and complex verbal and written instructions in daily work routines.
2. Ability to work under stress with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines and to keep track of several tasks concurrently.
3. Ability to prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines.
4. Excellent verbal communication skills.

1. Ability to communicate with physicians, co-workers, employees and patients.
