The Vice President, Sparrow Medical is responsib! le for the leadership development and integration of physician practice including planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the physician practice function. This person will work closely with the Health System Leaders as is relates to strategic planning, program development, quality clinical integration improvement and financial reporting and monitoring. This person is also responsible for the development and execution of innovative strategies for the long-term growth of existing practices. Other responsibilities include:
Oversees the development of the physician recruitment plan and working with the group practice staff in the enactment of this plan
Leads the development and implementation of the physician compensation plan(s) that foster patient centeredness, teamwork, physician satisfaction and fiscal stewardship.
Oversees issues related to clinical quality, risk management, service and compliance.
Located in Lansing, Michigan, Sp! arrow Health System is a 676-bed, Level I Trauma Center and te! aching hospital, affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine and Nursing. The Sparrow Medical Group offers primary care practices at a variety of locations throughout Mid-Michigan. Services includes behavioral health, urgent care facilities, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology and family practices, plastic & reconstructive services, hand surgeon services, and adult & pediatric hospitalist services.
Candidate must have a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree with an appropriate board certification. A minimum of five to ten years of physician leadership experience within a large multispecialty physician group practice or integrated delivery system required. Must have extensive medical group management experience and a proven ability to drive strategic and tactical/operational initiatives. Excellent communication (both written and oral) skills are a must.
