The Resource Team (float pool) of Mercy Health Physician Partners in Grand Rapids is looking for highly competent Business Office Coordinators. The individual will float to our different office locations (all within Kent County ) and support our many providers, staff, and specialties (Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, etc.).
This position is not benefit-eligible and does not have guaranteed hours. Candidates should ideally be available Monday through Friday, 7a-7p. The schedule is published every 6 weeks, so the schedule is known many weeks in advance.
Orientation will be full time for about 1 month. Bilingual candidates appreciated.
Responsible for various business office functions to coordinate the timely and efficient flow of patients and medical records. Responsibilities include scheduling, medical records, referral coordinator, cashier, and assisting other staff w! ith patient scheduling and clerical responsibilities. High sch! ool education or equivalent. Two years experience or training in a medical office preferred Training or experience in ICD-9 and CPT coding and managed care insurance plans a plus. Medical terminology knowledge . Three years preferred. Must be able to type 30 words per minute. Ability to communicate effectively, in written and verbal formats. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to deal with people with diverse backgrounds and educational levels. Effective problem solving skills. Ability to manage high volume phone calls and to remain organized and composed. Ability to work in team-oriented environment. Must handle patient information in a confidential manner.
