Register Dietician (RD)
Provides leadership in nutritional care in departments, patient care settings and for the community. Gathers nutritional data on patients and clients, assess individual needs, initiates a plan! of care and evaluates the effectiveness of nutritional care provided. Provide nutritional education and consultation for patients and clients on both an in-patient and out-patient basis, and generates financial data as appropriate (i.e. charges, statistics). Provides in-service education and health awareness programs to hospital personnel. Presents community nutrition education programs. Participates as teaching team member of Cardiac Rehabilitation, Diabetes Education and Pulmonary Education programs. Also participates as available in the PMU and OB/GYN nutrition classes Provides nutrition services to Mercy Home Care and Mercy Manor where appropriate. Provides consultation to the Food Service area. Must be able to problem solve and refer as needed in a timely manner. Interpersonal skills are a must.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in a nutrition related field. Completion of an approved program of experience and examination to gain Registered Dietitia! n status. Completion of at least 75 continuing education units! every five years to maintain Registered Dietitian status. Prefer minimum of one year experience.
