Lead strategic and tactical efforts supporting the EMEA North team at Splunk. Recruit, hire, lead and develop a Sales Engineering technical team focused on sales success and customer delight. Work cross functionally within Splunk to promote and influence strategic product direction supporting EMEA North sales and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Be recognised as the cultural leader of Sales Engineering for EMEA North by all Go-to-Market functions and Sales Engineering teams.
- Be the technical peer of the GVP of Sales for EMEA North
- Jointly own customer success, leveraging best practice and focus to ensure our customers are delighted. Work cross functionally with support, product management, engineering, and other organizations to ensure alignment with EMEA, process and product feedback, and resolution of critical customer situations
- Develop and own the Sales Engineering mission for Splunk EMEA North, effectively translating the goals of the organization into actionable plans/activities for you and your teams.
- Develop and deliver Sales Engineering capabilities supporting activities needed to achieve both quarterly and long term revenue targets.
- Engaging closely and proactively with Sales Leadership to create alignment and develop initiatives to support sales campaigns and initiatives
- Develop and maintain a catalog of Sales Engineering services, with artifacts, SLA’s and KPI
- Ensure that your teams are enabled to support all required Splunk products and solutions along with required sales/soft skills
- Inspire, Motivate and Lead your team strategically and tactically to meet leadership objectives
- Work closely with EMEA North cross-functional leadership to ensure Sales Engineering contribution to strategic and technical territory and account plans, proactive pipeline generation and opportunity pursuits
- Drive a systematic and regular culture of continuous performance improvement
- Manage key talent and drive necessary actions to retain top talent and manage performance at all levels
- Provide regular communication to senior leaders regarding important issues impacting sales and customer success.
- Hold regular cadence with your leads and their teams to provide team leadership/direction as well as allow input on issues affecting the team’s effectiveness
Requirements:
- A strong technical background in Data-driven insights, Cyber-Security, Service resilience, Application resilience or Business resilience
- Astute business acumen with application to both customer and Splunk
- A history of influential senior-level engagement with stakeholders in both customers and internally
- An agent of change - be able to communicate, gain buy-in and execute organisational or process change.
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral. Ability to communicate complex ideas
- An ability to develop team diversity and the ability to work in a diverse environment.
- A proven ability to motivate, inspire and lead people and teams toward their peak performance
- Previous related management experience required
- 10+ years in a sales engineering/management capacity or similar experience
- Agility and flexibility to flourish in a fast paced environment
