Patient Access Associate
to join our busy OB/GYN team in Dearborn, MI.
Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Patient Access Associate to work in our centralized scheduling department providing customer service for our medical office practices. They will perform functions related to business activities including but not limited to: patient appointments, registration, billing functions, cash collections, phone communications, and office maintenance. The clinic is open: Moday thru Friday hours vary 7:30Am till 6PM.
Administrative duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Answer telephones
- Greet incoming patients
- Update patient medical records
- Complete insurance forms
- Handle correspondence
- Schedule appointments
- Arrange for hospital admissions
- Process referral requests
- Arrange for laboratory services
- Handle billing and bookkeeping
- Maintain computerized schedules
- Collects cash for previous account balances, co-payments, deductibles, and non-covered insurance services
- Complete daily reconciliation of batching and cash drawer receipts
- Accesses patient inquiry screens from the department's computerized patient data system to assist patients with billing-related issues
- Inform patients of delays in appointment times and/or processing of patient requests
- Adhere to the revenue cycle policy
- Ensure accurate third party billing (verification) for all patients
- Perform other administrative duties as directed
Required Skills:

1-2 + years of experience working in a medical office setting
·
Excellent customer service and phone etiquette

Desired Skills:
Excellent knowledge of OB processes and diagnosis
General knowledge of OB/GYN charge entry and appointment process
Excellent typing/computer entry skills.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required
