The Perinatal Center is located in the SPB. The job being offered is to be a shared practice supervisor II between the OB Residency and the Perinatal Center. Job Purpose: In collaboration with the SMG Senior Practice Manager, the Practice Supervisor II ensures that quality professional and nonprofessional services are provided to patients at the level that patients require; envisions the future for the department; produces excellence; leads by influence; and develops associates within the department.

The Practice Supervisor II is responsible for the day-to-day operations. This includes, but is not limited to, staffing, systems, patient flow, expense management and other functions required to maintain an effective service oriented practice. Primary Duties and Responsibilities : In conjunction with site providers and Senior Practice Manager &/or Operations Director, determines staffing needs required. Selects, trains, and supervises, evaluates and disciplines site staff.

Processes time records and all other Associate records required by SMG. Orients and oversees the continuing education of practice Associates . 2. Develops and implements systems to ensure the smooth efficient, ongoing operations of the practice .

Ensures that provider and patient needs are met. 3. In conjunction with the Senior Practice Manager &/or Operations Director and physicians, develops and monitors key performance indicators on a regular basis. 4.

Recommends action plans to correct any negative variances. 5. Works in conjunction with Billing Office Manager to ensure that data input and collection procedures are appropriately followed. 6.

I n conjunction with the Quality Manager/Quality Analyst and Senior Practice Manager &/or Operations Director, develops, implements and monitors quality assurance standards for the site. 7. In cooperation with Practice Physician, monitors site budget. Monitors budget performance on a monthly basis.

8. Establishes policies, procedures and protocols necessary to accomplish daily tasks, processes and long range goals consistent with standards established by SMG. 9. Coordinates the development of educational materials and protocols for clinical practice, including providing counseling to patients and family members in relation to health and family matters, developmental needs and crises.

10. Facilitates positive communication, and serve as a liaison between the practice site and the various SMG departments, as well as the Sparrow Health System, outside agencies and community groups. 11. Ensures that established policies, procedures, fire, safety, OSHA guidelines and accrediting body regulations are followed in the practice.

12. Under the direction of a physician, provides nursing care directly to clients within the limits of the RN license. 13. May perform all duties of a RN, as defined on the Registered Nurse (RN) job description.

14. Serves as a role model for consistent demonstration of Sparrow Health System's Customer Service Behavioral Standards of Performance by respecting the Privacy and Confidentiality of those we serve. 15. Demonstrates knowledge and respects patient, service provider, organizational confidentiality and HIPAA Security procedures and protocols as defined under the HIPAA Privacy and Security Procedures.

16. Follows established HIPAA privacy procedures when using and/or disclosing protected health information 17. Maintains and protects patients' rights under the HIPAA Privacy Standards. 18.

Performs other duties as assigned by Senior Practice Manager &/or Operations Director. Working Conditions: 1. Limited exposure to blood borne pathogens and other infectious diseases. 2.

Exposure to latex, rare use of latex. 3. Ability to ambulate throughout the Health System, including bending, stooping and lifting. 4.

Exposure to CRT screen and repetitive hand and wrist use. Positions That Report Directly To This Position: 1. Physician Practice Office Staff Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: 1. RN with Current Michigan License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.

Additional college coursework in business or management, or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelors degree preferred. 2. T hree years increasing responsibility in ambulatory care setting required, supervisory experience in multiple physician practice preferred.

3. Three years experience in an OB nursing position that required clinical judgment and critical experience required. Demonstrated ability to formulate effective nursing care plans. 4.

OB experience highly desirable. 5. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and strong attention to detail required. 6.

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective interpersonal skills required. 7. Previous experience with physician practice budget and billing processes preferred. 8.

Ability to provide care for clients which is age-specific to meet their physical and safety needs, psychosocial concerns and educational level. 9. V isual and auditory acuity necessary to monitor patient's condition and operate office equipment. 10.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. 11. Leadership/Teambuilding Skills. 12.
