Specialty nursing certification
Experience with simulation utilizing high-fidelity nursing education
On-line teaching experience or Michigan Virtual University certification or equivalent
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Master of Science in Nursing degree (MSN) or completion of MSN within 6 months of date of hire.
Michigan Nursing License (or be eligible for within 30 days of employment).
Knowledge and current clinical expertise in a range of acute care areas.
Three years Nursing teaching experience including clinical, classroom, or laboratory instruction.
Must have strong knowledge in Obstetrics Nursing.
Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including online strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skilled in the use of email and electronic calendars.
Background knowledge of classroom and student assessmen! t.
Excellent analysis and communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to work in a team environment as well as a commitment to diversity, continuous improvement and the community college philosophy.

Responsibilities:
Full-time responsibili! ty as a member of the Career Ladder Nursing Program team including a full-time teaching load teaching courses including Obstetrics Nursing (per the LCC Faculty Association Agreement) in any of the four nursing program tracks. Faculty member will participate in curriculum development, student advising, coordination of courses and/or adjunct faculty, mentoring of colleagues, and serving on various program, department, division, and college-wide committees. Ongoing personal and professional development required.
Essential Duties:
Advises students on curriculum, academic programs, employment and career goals, and other matters as appropriate.
Responds to requests of academic area and/or program leaders, department heads, committee chairs, records office, etc. in a timely and thorough manner.
Consistently meets instructional schedule and other assignments and commitments in support of the college.
Meets requirements of the faculty e! valuation plan in a timely manner and with the intention of maintaining! teaching effectiveness, professional development and support of college/community initiatives.
Places the primary emphasis on student learning in the design, delivery, and evaluation/assessment of courses.
Understands the various levels of preparation represented in the typical classroom and communicates well to the various levels.
Provides a course syllabus to the students.
Understands and adapts teaching to various learning styles present in the classroom as demonstrated in the presentation of course materials and assessment of student learning.
