We are currently looking for a Medical Coding SR Associate to join our team in Dearborn, MI.
As a M! edical Coding SR Associate, you will work for one of Dell’s healthcare clients responsible for coding needed for OB/Gyn, Neonatology, Cardiology, and Trauma/Critical Care practice(s) in southeast Michigan. Must be focused, organized, analytical, and proficient at researching and solving problems.
Daily use of numerous coding software programs
Use of 10-key, medical terminology, ICD-9 and CPT
Reading of the entire operative report to ensure that all codes are abstracted and documentation is submitted for billing
Addresses billing/coding related inquires
Interacts with other healthcare professionals and physicians regarding coding issues
Responsible for attending meetings and inservices to enhance coding knowledge, compliance skills, and maintenance of credentials
Mentors more junior team members
Required Skills:
2-4 years of medical coding experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Candidate(s)! must have 2+ years experience in their designated specialty (! OB/Gyn, Trauma, etc.)
Solid reading and understanding skills - Medical record analysis to understand the procedure performed and the reason for which it was done.
Solid aptitude and processing skills.
Experience with 10-key
Proficient in medical terminology
Proficient in ICD-9, CPT and HCPCS
Must have knowledge of Medicare and various other payer coding, billing, and reimbursement guidelines
Minimum Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree, technical college or some college course work preferred
- Graduate of certified coding program
- CPC or CCS-P or combination (Not an Apprentice)
