POSITION OVERVIEW Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations to include abdominal, retroperitoneal, OB/GYN and vascular scans, utilizing established policies and procedures and ARDMS standards ensuring optimal diagnostic quality. Services are provided based on the ages of the population served; Newborn through geriatric - 65 years or older and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Maintains examination data, equipment and supplies utilized in the provision of services. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of patients and customers. Assists physicians during procedures, needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies. The Ultrasound Technologist is under the supervisi! on of the Chief Technologist and reports to the Director of Me! dical Imaging MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must obtain ARDMS Diagnostic Ultrasound certification within 16 months of hire RVT preferred Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date. Minimum of one year experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including vascular experience Sufficient computer skills as are required to complete an online application and the pre-employment/annual Net Learning requirements In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of the position without compromising services.
