SUMMARY: The Network Administrator works directly with the Information Technology Director to maintain and administer the computing environment within the organization. Ensures the system ! hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. This position may provide guidance to the Network Technician on an as-needed basis. Cross-training is essential in the IT department in order to meet the needs of the organization. Some of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below are to highlight this functionality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Servers:

  • Log into EHS, Domain Controller, Exchange, Solomon, etc., daily to check for errors that may have occurred and take action to resolve any issues.
  • Provide weekly maintenance on all servers to promote optimal performance so that daily operations performed by end users are uninterrupted and productive.
  • Install new updates or patches for software that is currently on the servers (EHS, Solomon, etc.). These updates are to be done after hours.
  • Data Backup:
    • Review daily data backup! logs to ensure that all FHC data is backed up.
    • Investigate and correct any warnings or critical errors that may occur.
    • Keep the backup servers up to date with the latest server patches.
    • Perform recovery of data when requested by end user.
    New Employees:
    • Create new user accounts in the Active Directory.
    • Create a new mailbox account for user on the Email Exchange Server.
    • Build an EHS account with the privileges needed for job duties.
    • Provide training on how to access network, e-mail, EHS, print to network printers.
    • If new employee is provider, assign laptop and train on how to use.
    Video Surveillance:Serve as back-up for the following functions:
    • Maintain video surveillance server and DVR to ensure services are running and recording correctly.
    • On request; pull any video that is needed for investigation of an event.
    Access B! adge System:Serve as back-up for the following functions:
    • Create new access badges when requested.
    • Daily checks over logs to ensure alarms or errors are investigated and corrected.
    • Administer over security groups to ensure that they are accurate and access points are appropriate for different level employees.
    • On request; pull access badge/point reports for investigation of improper badge usage.
    Network Security:
    • Daily reviews of Intrusion Protection System for inappropriate internal network usage and outside network intrusions.
    • Review, investigate, and defend any virus/malware/adware attacks on our network.
    • Administer over employee bandwidth usage to ensure optimal network performance.
    • Keep our virus protection up to date and install critical security patches for the Windows Operating System.
    Work Log
    • Maintain the IT tracking system.
    • ! Establish IT work efficiencies to allow for optimum workflow.
    • ! Assist in distributing tasks within the IT team.
    • Ensure departmental responsibilities are completed timely and properly.
    Phone System:Serve as back-up for the following functions:
    • Use the Cisco Call Manager to Create/Modify phone extensions for employees that have moved locations or are just starting with the organization.
    • Create/modify voicemail boxes for extensions and set passwords.
    • Program voice menu prompts for patient call-in lines.
    • Troubleshoot any phone/voicemail issue that may occur.
    • Program any DNIS/extension number transfers that are requested.
    End User Support:
    • Answer any call that goes to the IT On Call phone and provide technical support.
    • Support includes but is not limited to any Software & Hardware problems, (EHS, E-mail, Log-in, internet based application portals, Microsoft Office, printing, scanning, monitor, keyboard, mouse, PC etc.)
    • Set up laptop & projector for meetings when requested.
    • Train employees on new software developments, and re-educate them on current PC and peripheral knowledge.
    • Remotely connect to any FHC location to assist users when needed.
    Installation:
    • Install PCs along with peripheral equipment where needed.
    • Install, and administer over POS devices.
    • Install specific drivers on servers and on PCs to allow them to function and interact with peripherals.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    Must possess:
    Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science! , Business Administration, or Management information systems.
    Two t! o three years of related experience is also required. Must be proficient in most Microsoft Server Software Applications.
    Must have excellent knowledge of internet protocols; must have a very good understanding and experience working with HL7.
    Must possess a valid drivers license and have transportation to travel to various sites to support the organizations systems and provide end-user support
    .

    Prefers:
    Three plus years of experience interfacing with CISCO networking equipment.
    Following certifications: Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCIE, MCSA, MCSE or A+.
