Job Summary The Research Lab Technician Associate will work in the lab within the OBGYN department. Lab focuses on translational research of benign gynecological diseases including fibroids, primary ovarian insufficiency, endometrial physiology as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Task also includes specimen processing and management while working closely with the department biorepository.
Responsibilities* Duties include but are not limited to:
- Cell culture
- Cell transfection
- IHC, IF
- Establishing primary cell lines
- DNA, RNA isolation from serum, whole blood, tissue and other body fluid
- cDNA synthesis
- PCR, RT-PCR amplification
- Agarose gel electrophoresis
- Protein extraction and purification
- Antibody optimization
- Western blotting
- Immunoprecipitation
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments
- Input and analyze data using common laboratory software programs for computers
- Bachelorâs degree in a science related field
- At least 1 year of experience working in a research lab
- Demonstrate ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrate experience with primary cell and cell line culture, RNA/DNA isolation, western blots, real time PCR, plasmids, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, etc.
- Bachelorâs degree or higher in science or healthcare related field
- 2-3 years of experience working in a research lab
- Previous experience with microscopy, fluorescence microscope
