Provides Clinical and Nursing Leadership and serves as a consultative knowledge resource for the Trinity Health Perinatal Patient Safety Initiative (PPSI). Responsible for advancing the standard of clinical! and nursing practice through expert clinical practice, education, consultation and research. Provides a high level of independent judgment using skills and knowledge acquired through advanced education and experiences to enhance patient care. With Medical Director for Perinatal Practice, leads the development of strategic plans for the PPSI. Contributes expert obstetrical clinical and nursing perspectives to Unified Enterprise Ministry (UEM) organizational decision-making using expert practice knowledge, problem solving skills, evaluation, collaboration, leadership, and role modeling.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Nursing with a clinical focus in Obstetrics. Current RN Licensure. Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring required. Additional certification in Obstetrical Specialty preferred. Master’s degree in Nursing with a clinical focus in Obstetrics. Demonstrated clinical experience including a minimum of five (5) years of concentrated cl! inical and leadership experience in Labor and Delivery. Teachi! ng experience in obstetrical care is required. Demonstrated experience managing change management, process redesign and leading clinical improvement initiatives. Working knowledge of change management and process improvement methods and techniques. Proven leadership abilities and skills in the improvement of perinatal care processes. Proven interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written, and conflict management skills essential. Strong analytical competency, critical thinking, problem solving abilities, and professional presence required. Considerable understanding of current and emerging evidence based trends in Perinatal Care. Shows how to use (through a competency assessment) a standard desktop and windows based computer system, including a basic understanding of email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job. A personal presence which is characterized by a sense of hone! sty, integrity, and caring with ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment with regular interaction with executives.
