Job Summary
Kitten Rescue is seeking part-time cat/kitten caretakers at our cat sanctuary in Atwater Village (90039). Our caretaking shifts start at 7am and finish at 10pm, and are mostly 5-8 hour shifts. Candidates should be available to work at least 3-4 shifts a week, and be available on weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities and Duties
Cat/kitten Care:
- Administering medications: Oral medications, injections, sub-q fluids
- Cleaning cat enclosures, scooping many cat boxes
- Prepare and provide food and water for cats
- Monitoring cats for signs of illness or injury
Facility Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Sweeping and mopping
- Clean cat enclosures
- Scoop and wash litter boxes
- Put away food and litter deliveries
- Break down cardboard boxes
- Laundry
Qualifications:
- Prior animal care experience is required
- Comfortability in an open shelter environment. Most of our cats are not confined to enclosures.
- Must be comfortable with handling cats and kittens of all ages, some of which may be fractious, as well as cats that have special needs and illnesses that may be zoonotic.
- Ability to administer oral medications, injections and sub-q fluids to cats
- Self-motivated
- Work well as part of a team
- Ability to lift 25lbs
- Reliable work attendance

COVID-19 considerations:
We are a cat rescue sanctuary. There is minimum contact with other people at this time. Masks are optional, but covid-19 vaccinations are required. The nature of the work requires frequent hand washing and gloves/gowns are available.
